Adopt Luzi

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 11 months

Luzi (black and white) and Neferti Current Location: Barlad, Romania Age: born around June 2025 Specialties: know dogs Gender: female Personality: very playful, curious, people-oriented, social Hello, dear humans, we are the two kitten sisters Neferti and Luzi and we wish for a home. Our foster mom found us on the street, many people simply throw kittens into trash cans to get rid of them. Luckily, there are loving people who take care of and rescue kittens. So we ended up here. We would like to stay together because we love each other so much and like to play together. Luzi is also very people-oriented, as her foster mom says, a "family cat." Once we are old enough, we will be spayed. Additionally, before travel arrangements, we will receive vaccinations (cat flu, feline infectious peritonitis, and rabies) as well as Spot-on and deworming. We will also be microchipped and receive our own EU pet passport. Since we were found as very young kittens, we do not know the dangers of the street. Therefore, a free roam is not an option and can only be possible in a really safe environment when we are old enough. We also look forward to a secure balcony or a beautiful play area in the apartment.

So kamen wir also hierher.

About Luzi

What life with Luzi looks like

Luzi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
