Adopt Maeb

An older lady waiting to finally feel safe. Maeb is a sweet older lady with a difficult past, but so much love still to give. She came to us from a private rescue in Germany, run by a dedicated vet who saved many dogs throughout her life. Sadly, after the vet passed away, her family worked tirelessly to find safe, forever homes for all the dogs across Europe. Three of those dogs came to us – two have since been rehomed, leaving Maeb still waiting. Out of the three, Maeb was the one who needed a home the most. She is a nervous and timid girl, likely shaped by a troubled past. The busy, high-energy environment of the rescue is overwhelming for her and since her companions have now moved on to their own homes, she has been left struggling even more with stress and anxiety. Because of how easily she becomes frightened and may try to run and due to our proximity to the autopista, Maeb unfortunately cannot live freely like some of our other dogs. For her safety, she currently spends much of her time in a secure space – something we would love to change for her as soon as possible. Thankfully, she will soon be travelling to a foster home that will take care of her until we find her forever home! Maeb would thrive in a calm, quiet home where life moves gently. She is good with other calm, older dogs or any dog that respects her space. With age, she has developed slight hearing and vision impairments, so she needs a patient and understanding environment. At around 10 years old, Maeb isn’t looking for much, just peaceful days, gentle walks and a safe place to finally relax. She is a beautiful dog, with one striking piercing blue eye, and a heart that deserves to feel safe again.
