Adopt Mair

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

✨ Mair – D2026-36 ✨ 🐾 3-Year-Old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 🐾 ✔️ Neutered ✔️ First vaccination completed ✔️ Microchipped ✔️ Up to date with flea & worm treatment ✔️ No ongoing health issues Beautiful little Mair is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who is only just beginning to discover what life as a loved family pet should feel like. Having come from a breeding establishment, she has had very little exposure to the outside world or human affection, so while she is naturally friendly, she can initially be nervous and unsure. Despite her fears, Mair desperately wants to trust. She will approach new people cautiously with soft eyes, a tentative waggy tail, and hope written all over her little face. Since settling into foster, her confidence has blossomed more each day. She now jumps onto the sofa to sit beside her foster family and absolutely melts once she realises she is safe. Belly rubs, cuddles, and gentle fuss are quickly becoming her favourite things. Mair has also been lovely with her fosterer’s grandchildren and enjoys quietly sitting with them for strokes and attention. She could live with calm, dog-savvy children aged 8+, but she would not cope in a loud or overly busy household. Now that her puppy-producing days are behind her, Mair is finally learning how to simply be a dog — and she’s loving it. She enjoys pottering around the garden, chasing birds from “her” trees, and playing with toys. Like any cheeky spaniel, she has a mischievous streak too and likes to collect little treasures for her bed. Slippers, socks, soft toys… if it’s missing, chances are Mair has lovingly added it to her secret stash! Thankfully, she’s happy to hand them back… until next time. She will happily entertain herself chewing soft toys and has enjoyed gentle tug games with the other foster dog, although she usually prefers to win the prize and carry it proudly back to bed. As Mair is not yet fully vaccinated, she has not started walking outdoors. Harnesses and leads are still

About Mair

What life with Mair looks like

Mair is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mair, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mair?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mair on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mair if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mair already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mair isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mair and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
