Maksio arrived at the shelter after his caregiver was admitted to hospice... 😭 URGENTLY seeking a loving home! 🥹🤍 Maksio came to our shelter after losing his beloved caregiver, who was his only close person. ❤️ Unfortunately, the caregiver was admitted to hospice and Maksio had no one to take care of him... 💔 In an instant, the dog lost his previous life, home, and loved one. Maksio initially struggled with the changes... The dog moved in with us in the office, where we try to create a substitute for a home atmosphere. ❤️🏡 He is close to people, can rest on a blanket and does not have to spend his days alone in the shelter reality. Maksio is a small, extremely gentle and loving old man. 🥺❤️ Despite several years on his back, he can still surprise with energy - he eagerly goes for walks and even likes to run. 🐾 This is a really wonderful and delicate older dog, who after what happened to him, deserves a peaceful old age by the side of a human. 🥹🐾 Although Maksio is still full of vigor, he cannot cheat the passing years, which take their toll on his health. Maksio has a sick eye that requires surgery. We do not want Maksio to spend the rest of his life without his own family after losing his caregiver. We believe that someone is waiting for him somewhere, who will give him a warm home, security and a sense that he is loved again. ❤️ 🐶 DATE OF BIRTH: approx. 08/2010 🐶 CHIP: YES 🐶 SPAY/NEUTER: Waiting for surgery 🐶 VACCINATION: YES 🐶 DEWORMING: YES 🐶 FLEA TREATMENT: YES Contact us about adoption! ❤ ☎ 607 540 557 or email: 📩

Maksio to malutki, niezwykle łagodny i kochany dziadulek. ❤️ 🐶 DATA URODZENIA: ok. 08/2010r. 🐶 CZIP: TAK 🐶 KASTRACJA: Oczekuje na zabieg 🐶 SZCZEPIENIE: TAK 🐶 ODROBACZENIE: TAK 🐶 ODPCHLENIE: TAK Skontaktuj się z nami w sprawie adopcji! ❤ ☎ 607 540 557 lub mail: 📩

About Maksio

What life with Maksio looks like

Maksio is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maksio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maksio?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maksio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maksio if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Maksio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maksio isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maksio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
