Mała

Female · Senior · 13 years

Mała - that's the name of the female dog who came to the animal shelter at the beginning of December 2025. It's a serious turn in her life. She had a home, a kitten sister, and a caregiver, she felt safe and loved. Unfortunately, the caregiver became ill and she came to Paluch along with the kitten. She is disoriented and unhappy. She is afraid of strangers, so she tries to keep her distance just in case - she doesn't yet know what to expect, so she is cautious. However, it seems that instinctively she is drawn to people 💚 The hardest part is putting on the leash, but it works because Mała - like a true family dog - loves going for walks. Once we are outside the animal shelter gates, there is space for petting and cuddles. Then she comes to us and opens up to the relationship and touch. It's a little sad creature trying to reorganize her world. She is disoriented and is looking for support from people as bravely as she can. The animal shelter, after a quiet and comfortable home, is a very difficult experience for a dog. Everything that gave her a sense of security and stability disappears. We try to calm the fears of Little, but nothing can replace home and a constant, gentle and patient caregiver. Before sun diagnostic. Who would want to make waiting for a new home for Little last as short as possible?

To poważny zwrot w jej życiu.

About Mała

What life with Mała looks like

Mała is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient rehabilitation due to recent trauma and adjustment difficulties

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mała, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mała?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mała on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mała if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mała already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mała isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mała and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
