Adopt Malcolm

Female · Puppy

Malcolm was surrendered with female dog Mia at a kill shelter, likely due to Mia’s pregnancy. Our Hungarian partner shelter managed to rescue both of them at the last minute. The little Malcolm is not just a blind follower of orders—he seeks a genuine partnership with his people! He is a super friendly, but also very goal-oriented, intelligent, open-minded, and energetic young male dog with a strong personality. When he sets his mind on something, he pursues his goal with great determination. The French Bulldog breed is undoubtedly present in him, as evidenced by his determined behavior. Due to his goal-oriented nature, he requires a consistent and clear set of rules. He responds well to motivation, but prefers to work as a partner with his owner rather than blindly obeying. Malcolm is very open with people and boldly and confidently explores his new world. Unknown noises do not faze him, so Malcolm would likely have no problems living in the city with his people in the future. He seems not to be particularly compatible with other dogs. However, Malcolm is still young and will be neutered before travel arrangements. With a reduction in hormones and in experienced hands, this can certainly be worked on. Children in the new family should already be in their teenage years. Malcolm is an active dog and needs constant mental and physical stimulation. The little powerhouse is already doing well on the leash, but is still trainable. There should be no cats or other small pets in the new family. The little one will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and medically examined, and will have an EU pet passport. The transfer could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin, or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with him and give him a forever home! Malcolm Details: Name: Malcolm Breed: this breed Gender: neutered Male Age: 09.09.2024 Shoulder height: ca. 32 cm

About Malcolm

What life with Malcolm looks like

Malcolm is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Malcolm, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Malcolm?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Malcolm on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Malcolm if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Malcolm already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Malcolm isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Malcolm and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
