Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Mama Mia Cautiously compatible with other cats Free-roaming/outdoor cat Hello, I am Mama Mia – and I too wish for my own, peaceful forever home. I came to the animal shelter as a stray along with my three kittens. My little ones have already found their happiness, and now it's my turn. I am a shy, very reserved cat who prefers to observe people from a distance. I don't need a lot of bustle, just a place where I can simply be myself. I am a quiet animal and like to retreat to safe, quiet places! In my new home, I definitely need free-roaming and would get along well with other cats. It would also be possible for me to be an outdoor cat, where my care is assured and I can live as your mouser. If you would like to meet me, please contact Kathrin Schoof at 04298 46 777 24 or send a self-disclosure form!

About Mama Mia

What life with Mama Mia looks like

Mama Mia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Lilienthal in Grasberg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mama Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mama Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lilienthal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mama Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mama Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Lilienthal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mama Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mama Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lilienthal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mama Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
