Mandiner

German Shepherd · Female · Senior · 10 years

Mandiner is a female German shepherd mix dog born in October 2015 who arrived extra severely emaciated and frail from the Hajdúszoboszlói municipal pound. We immediately began her examination and treatment. Fortunately, with the help of the best veterinarians and our (unfortunately) very wide range of experience, we have given her hope that she will succeed. She passed the first round of external and internal parasite treatments. We began her immune boosting and the administration of special fur and skin nourishing vitamins, as well as weekly multi-dose deworming treatments. Thanks to the treatments, her coat has grown back, and now it is clear that she is a fine German shepherd. Mandiner is very friendly, active, and directly trainable. We have started her vaccination program, and she is microchipped and neutered, ready for adoption. We are looking for a home where she will never have to experience anything bad again, where she can settle happily into the remaining years of her dog life as a true family member. We hope she will find an Angyala who proves that life is beautiful and that there is trust in people, a responsible owner, a family, and home—the best place in the world! About Mandiner

What life with Mandiner looks like

Mandiner is a small senior german shepherd dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Previously had severe skin condition, now recovered

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mandiner, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mandiner?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mandiner on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mandiner if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mandiner already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mandiner isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mandiner and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
