Manni

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I’m a young tomcat brimming with energy, charm, and my own unique ideas. Friendly, open-minded, and playful, I go through life with gusto—and most of the time, I find myself pretty amusing. My fellow felines don’t always share my enthusiasm, though, because sometimes my temperament gets the better of me and I overdo it just a bit. But I never mean any harm—I simply have plenty of wild ideas swirling around in my head. In general, I get along well with other cats and would absolutely love to have one or more feline playmates. However, these companions should also be active, confident, and eager to play so they can keep up with my boundless energy. After a suitable adjustment period, I’d really like to have free-roaming access to the outdoors in my future home. Exploring the world, watching mice, wandering through bushes, and then coming home to tell all about my adventures—that’s exactly my idea of a perfect day! One little quirk I do bring along, though: I suffer from chronic rhinitis. That’s why sometimes I sound just like Darth Vader himself. But this doesn’t dampen my joy for life at all. Occasionally, I need to take some inhalations to help me breathe easily. Anyone who gets to know me quickly realizes that despite my snuffling, I’m a cheerful, vivacious cat. What we’re looking for are people with a sense of humor who appreciate a confident young tomcat, can provide him with plenty of engaging activities, and aren’t put off by his occasional Darth-Vader-like noises. If you’re searching for a friendly, funny, and characterful companion, you might just find in me the perfect roommate. So feel free to send us an email with information and photos about your planned cat care, or leave a message on our answering machine. We’d be delighted to schedule an appointment and show you our cats as well as possible housing options. During our personal meeting, we’ll tailor our approach specifically to you and the individual needs of each cat, helping us find the best possible human-cat match together.

About Manni

What life with Manni looks like

Manni is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. in Minden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Manni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Minden e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
