adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Maracuja has found her people! Her story: Absolute Kuschelkatze is searching for her forever home! Maracuja is a beautiful, approximately 1.5-year-old cat with a stunning coat that catches the eye immediately. And the best part about her is her wonderful personality! For Maracuja, nothing is more delightful than snuggling with people, being stroked, and experiencing everything that life has to offer with her two-legged friends. Maracuja places a great deal of importance on time with people and is highly people-oriented. This shows that Maracuja is not a typical street cat. Originally, she had a family, but they recently moved away and left Maracuja behind. More is not known about her previous family. But all of that should now be in the past, because the sweet girl wants to start anew. Maybe with you? At first, she was overwhelmed by the many cats in her foster home and preferred to be on the defensive. But Maracuja quickly realized that her fellow animals do not mean her any harm and that she can play with them peacefully and help them eat their food 😉. As Maracuja is still a bit more energetic for her age and loves to play, she is happy to have a future not only with animal-loving people but also with another furry friend. If you still don't have a kitten waiting for her, she is happy to bring one of her friends with her. We do not place her as an outdoor cat. If your heart beats for cats and you are looking for a trusting and loyal companion, then Maracuja is perfect for you! Maracuja travels neutered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. She is FIV and FELV tested negative and has an EU pet passport. Thank you Silvie S. for giving her her special name! As of: 24.02.

Danke Silvie S., Du hast Maracuja ihren besonderen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.02.2024

About Maracuja

What life with Maracuja looks like

Maracuja is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maracuja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maracuja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maracuja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maracuja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maracuja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maracuja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maracuja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
