Adopt MARC

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 3 months

Estimated birth date: February 2026 Brief info: friendly, people-oriented, well-socialized, playful, typical puppy type, compatible, family-friendly+, older children/teens-friendly+ MARC was born in February 2026 and was purchased by a family for their children along with his dog friends Uwe and Kling. However, after moving in, the people quickly realized that a puppy requires a lot of work, and so the three unrelated puppies ended up in the animal shelter. In the shelter, the three boys are still housed together in a run and form a playful "gang." MARC is the calmest of the three and dozed off during most of the photoshoot 🥰. When placed on the ground, he is a bit shy at first but then cautiously curious. For the adorable MARC, we are looking for loving people with dog experience who are willing to embark on the "puppy" adventure—complete with playing, snuggling, and frolicking, but of course, also a consistent and loving upbringing. Please keep in mind that the first few months with a puppy is a full-time job and requires 24/7 care. This must be guaranteed in any potential adoption. MARC will come microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport to his new home. Has this charming puppy boy wormed his way into your heart? Then we look forward to your message!

About MARC

What life with MARC looks like

MARC is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting MARC, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MARC?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MARC on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MARC if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MARC already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MARC isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know MARC and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
