Adopt Polo and Polly

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Polo and Polly were handed in after being found by a member of the public. They have spent some time in our cattery unit and are now ready to start the search for their forever homes. They can be homed either together or separate. These guys are bundles of fun and energy, they love chasing each other around their pen and playing with their favourite mouse toys! After their zoomies, they can be found curled up in their soft bed together for a cat nap, or watching the world go by. They would love to find a home with owners who could provide them with lots of playtime and love. They could live with children who are used to cats and could potentially share their home with another cat pending gradual introductions in the home. It is unknown how they would react around dogs. *Please note: We cannot reserve individual kittens, appointments are offered on a first come, first served basis.*

About Polo and Polly

What life with Polo and Polly looks like

Polo and Polly is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at USPCA.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Polo and Polly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polo and Polly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. USPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polo and Polly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polo and Polly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — USPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polo and Polly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polo and Polly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with USPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polo and Polly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
