Adopt Mozart

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 3 years

Mozart was admitted into our care after being found with a cat bite abscess to the right side of his head. After treatment and some much needed TLC, Mozart is now ready to find himself a new home! Mozart is such a sweet boy who has lots to say! This handsome boy got his musical name because he absolutely loves to 'sing' to his people, mostly when he wants attention or when he greets you in the morning for his breakfast! He is full of personality and loves spending time with people, enjoying affection and gentle head rubs. He loves everyone he meets and adores having a cuddle, after which, he can be found curled up in his soft bed for a cat nap, watching the world go by. Mozart is full of energy and curiosity, he would thrive in a home where he could get plenty of playtime and is involved in all the comings and goings of daily life! Mozart is looking for a very special home, as he has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is a viral infection which causes affected cats to have a weaker immune system. FIV+ cats can and do live normal lives with certain boundaries in place. It is important that he is housed to a single cat household but could potentially live with another FIV+ cat pending gradual introductions in the home. As well as this, he will have to be an indoor only cat. Mozart could live with children over 6 years of age who are used to cats.

About Mozart

What life with Mozart looks like

Mozart is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at USPCA.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Mozart, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mozart?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. USPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mozart on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mozart if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — USPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mozart already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mozart isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with USPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mozart and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
