adoption requirements adoption process Now meet Marie! Her story: The beautiful Marie, with her amber eyes, finally wants to know what love is. She was found in a village, about 30 km from Bistrita. Pushed around and thrown stones, Marie fled to a chicken coop and gave birth to 6 adorable puppies there. The lady who owns the chickens asked Diana Larissa for help. She took Marie and her babies into her care. There, Marie lovingly cares for her children. Marie enchants with her wonderful character. She is very loving and obedient and will surely become a great companion. At 18 kg and 45 cm, she has a nice medium size. Marie wishes for people who don't expect anything from her at first and give her time to settle in. We don't know if she is used to living in a house, so some patience is advised if she might make the occasional small mistake at first. Marie is looking forward to long nature walks and a cozy spot in your home and your heart. By appearance, Marie is likely a mix of a herding dog. Accordingly, Marie should be both physically and mentally challenged. She would also be happy to attend dog training classes. Once her babies no longer need her, she can start her big journey. Marie travels neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. She will also bring her EU pet passport. Marie can be adopted for an adoption fee of 500 Euros, after a positive Also, she would be happy to have a foster home. Stand: 31.05.2024

About Marie

What life with Marie looks like

Marie is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
