Adopt Marion - EKH

European Shorthair · Female · Senior · 11 years

Born: ca. 2015 at our area since: 17.10.2025 female, neutered Update May 2026 Unfortunately, Marion's health condition has worsened again, and she had to stay in the clinic for a long time. It's been an up and down journey. Her cold was very strong again, but we were able to stabilize it so she could return to the cattery. Only her diarrhea still causes us concern. All tests were negative, and the various therapies have been more effective sometimes and less effective at others. When it comes to fellow animals, it seems Marion's mood and the others' likability determine her behavior. We hope to find people who can handle her (possibly chronic) symptoms. Marion came to us as a found animal, having been discovered next to a road. At first, she was very ill, suffering from cat cold and severe diarrhea. It took a long time for her health to stabilize and for her to be vaccinated. Now she has moved into the rehoming area and has settled in well. Marion gets along well with the other cats, although she hasn't formed a close bond yet, as she is definitely the dominant one. She observes the people coming to the animal shelter attentively and is happy to see visitors. She enjoys playing and shows interest in new things. For Marion, we wish for a home with secure outdoor access. The new people should know that she may be more susceptible to cat colds, as she likely has been fighting them for a long time. A quiet environment with understanding people would be suitable for her. Share this page Copy link To protect the animals being rehomed and cover costs, we charge an adoption fee per animal.

About Marion - EKH

What life with Marion - EKH looks like

Marion - EKH is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marion - EKH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marion - EKH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marion - EKH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marion - EKH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marion - EKH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marion - EKH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marion - EKH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
