Marla

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

These six souls (Marla, Josy, Zora, Suki, Theo, Gina) did not have an easy start in life: They were found together with their mother Lucky in October 2024 at a killing station in Romania. Thanks to our dedicated animal rescuer Rodica, they were rescued in time and brought to safety. Now they all live at our shelter with Rodica, eagerly waiting for their own family. Despite their difficult beginnings, they have not lost their trust in people. They love to play, cuddle, and discover new things. What we are looking for: Loving people who are ready to give a Tierschutzhund a real home. People with hearts, patience, and responsibility, who are aware that a dog is not just cute but also requires work and long-term commitment. What Marla needs: A safe place to settle in, time to learn, lots of cuddles, and the willingness to explore the world with her. We hope very much that Marla will soon find her perfect home, where she will receive enough exercise and mental stimulation and can regain a healthy lifestyle and a normal figure. Would you like to give Marla a home? Together, we will give her the future she deserves.

About Marla

What life with Marla looks like

Marla is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Glückshunde Schweiz in Glueckshunde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glückshunde Schweiz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glückshunde Schweiz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glückshunde Schweiz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
