adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Little Marlo, how much we would like to find you a beautiful home and see you happy. But unfortunately, we can only think of you and remember you with great love, for you have sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We are speechless and sad, and we will never forget you. Rest in peace, little soul. You will be missed. His story: The little Marlo was rescued at the last minute. A young couple found him in a terrible condition and completely abandoned on a field. When he arrived at the animal shelter, we discovered that he was full of lice, extremely thin, and very weak. He was of course immediately treated for lice and received medical first aid. Now we are crossing our fingers that he will develop well and soon travel to his Forever Family! Marlo is very people-oriented despite his past. He loves being stroked and petted. He thoroughly enjoys when his little belly is tickled. He likes to tap around on the yard and explore the surroundings. He also has no problems with other dogs. He is already looking forward to finally finding a Forever Family that shows him the beautiful sides of the world. Marlo is currently around 3.5-4 months old and is expected to grow to a medium size. His new family should also be aware that Marlo has not yet experienced life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and is also facing puberty. Here, he needs people who can approach with much love and patience, and may need to attend some positive dog training classes and be forgiven for the occasional mishap. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to him. During puberty, he will surely test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Marlo will definitely be a great lifelong partner. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Marlo is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet man! Who will give him a loving Forever Home? Many thanks to Mayla! You gave Marlo his name.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden kleine Seele. Vielen Dank an Mayla! Du hast Marlo seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Marlo

What life with Marlo looks like

Marlo is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
