Marlowe

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 2 years

Meet this stunning girl Marlowe! Marlowe is a super friendly bundle of Joy. Marlowe is still a young girl, so is looking for a family that has the time and energy to put in the work to help her grow to be a great companion. She is friendly with everyone she meets, staff and volunteers included. She can be very bouncy and does jump up to say hello. She can pull and get over excited on her lead when she goes out for walks. Marlowe’s favourite thing is running around off lead in our enclosed compound area, she is really interested in the agility equipment and loves jumping about on it. Marlowe would make a fantastic dog for someone who leads an active life and is looking for an energetic dog to take along with them. Due to her still being young she will need plenty of exercise and mental enrichment to keep her occupied, agility or scent work could be a good option for this. Marlowe as the potential to be a fantastic dog so just needs someone that is willing to put in the work and training that she requires. Marlowe would be best suited to being with children who are 16 years and over, due to her coming in as a stray and having no background history on her – Subject to a successful meet.

About Marlowe

What life with Marlowe looks like

Marlowe is a medium-sized young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Cheshire) in Warrington.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlowe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlowe?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Cheshire) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlowe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlowe if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Cheshire) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Marlowe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlowe isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Cheshire) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlowe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
