The cat Martina arrived at the shelter from Märjamaa with her three kittens and was initially a very big scaredy-cat. When the quarantine period ended and the vaccinations started to take effect, Martina was moved to the large cat room with the other cats. Getting used to the others went well, but she always hid from me. Sometimes I even thought that she had run off somewhere. After a long search, I finally found her somewhere in a nest. Over time, however, Martina started to overcome her fear and the cats were increasingly curious to see. She still doesn't come close or let me near, but she no longer hides. Rather, she calmly moves away. Sometimes I have accidentally stumbled upon Martina playing, when she throws her toys into the air and then tries to catch them. Getting used to people would definitely happen more quickly if Martina could go home. Martina is looking for a home where she can calmly get used to the home warmth, where a sense of home and trust in people would arise.

Kassiema Martina saabus Märjamaalt turvakoju koos oma kolme pojakesega ja oli alguses jube suur susiseja. Kui karantiiniaeg läbi sai ja vaktsiinid kenasti kehtima hakkasid, pääses Martina suurde kassituppa teiste kiisude juurde. Teistega harjumine ja sisseelamine läks hästi, kuid minu eest puges alati peitu. Vahel tekkis lausa mõte, et ega ta nüüd kuskile jooksu pole saanud. Pika otsimisega leidsin ta siiski kuskilt pesast ülesse. Ajaga hakkas aga Martina hirm järgi andma ja kiisut oli üha rohkem uudistamas näha. Päris juurde veel ei tule ja lähedale ei luba, kuid peitu ka enam ei poe. Pigem eemaldub rahulikult. Mõnikord olen peale sattunud ka Martina mängudele, kui ta mänguasju õhku viskab ja neid siis püüab. Inimesega harjumine läheks kindlasti kiiremini, kui Martina oma koju saaks. Martina otsib kodu, kus ta saaks rahulikult tutvuda kodusoojusega, kus tekiks kodutunne ja usaldus inimese vastu.
