Marvi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Marvi was found alone on the streets of Romania and is believed to have been abandoned. She has been at a Romanian foster home for several weeks now and is showing what a great dog she is. Marvi is a very friendly, people-oriented and open-minded dog. She greets people she knows with joy and enthusiasm and enjoys their closeness and affection. She also shows herself open and interested to strangers and likes to make contact. Marvi has already met men, women and children and is equally friendly to them. She gets along very well with other dogs. She currently lives with fellow dogs and shows herself social and uncomplicated there. She also meets foreign dogs interested and sociable. She can be quite enthusiastic at times and shows her joy accordingly lively. This will require guidance in the future. Marvi has also already met cats. She shows herself curious and so far without signs of aggressive behavior. Overall, Marvi is described at her foster home as a curious, attentive and balanced dog with a moderate level of activity. She is willing to learn, adapts well to new situations and gets used to new routines quickly. Marvi tolerates physical manipulation, such as examinations and grooming measures. Of course, one must not forget that with the move into a new home, much will start again. Housebreaking, leash training, staying alone and the many small rules of everyday life may need to be learned or further consolidated under the new living conditions. New situations and environmental stimuli may also be unfamiliar to her in Germany at first. Marvi needs people who are willing to guide her patiently, lovingly and consistently and give her the necessary security and orientation. Attending a competent dog school would certainly be a good support for her. We wish Marvi people who consciously decide to take a dog and enjoy learning and growing with her. According to the observations so far, Marvi brings great prerequisites to develop into a wonderful companion. Please apply only with serious interest. Marvi is not just a friendly dog, but a living being with her own needs that needs time, education, attention and responsibility. Whoever decides for her should be willing to accompany her on her way in the long term and give her a real home. After a positive preliminary check, Marvi may be vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-free and with an EU pet passport for a deposit of 495 euros to move into her new home.

DE·Show original

About Marvi

What life with Marvi looks like

Marvi is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marvi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marvi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marvi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marvi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Marvi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marvi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marvi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
