adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Marvie has found a home! Her story: Half-starved, exhausted, and desperately searching for something to eat – in this state, the little Marvie was found together with her two siblings. Just a few months old, and yet these three puppy siblings had already experienced so much suffering. Today, a glimmer of hope shines in her deep black eyes. Her beige, fluffy fur with the white face mask makes the little Marvie a small beauty, but beneath the fur still lies a much too delicate puppy. Marvie is cautious and unsure, but we are sure that with lots of love, patience, and care, she will grow into a happy, open-minded young puppy. For now, she is in safety at the shelter in Fantanele and can finally learn what it feels like to eat until she is full. She shows herself to be compatible with other dogs, but whether she knows cats, we do not know, and of course, the life in a house is still completely foreign to her – house training, leashing, driving, and all the other things she still needs to learn. With positive reinforcement, she will quickly understand the puppy ABC. Even her puberty, when everything learned is suddenly forgotten and everything is questioned, will be mastered with loving, consistent companionship. Her appearance suggests that perhaps Pointer genes might be in her. People who already have experience with this breed group or are willing to familiarize themselves with their characteristics are ideal for her. Pointers are smart, eager to learn, and active – with the right stimulation, they will become great partners. Maybe you have just a spot in your heart and home free and can already imagine how wonderful it would be for the sweet Marvie to find safety and security for the first time with you and fall asleep contentedly by your side at night? That would be simply wonderful for Marvie because that is exactly what she wishes for – a loving home where she can simply be a dog. Marvie is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. After a positive Marvie will be in your loving care, showing you how wonderful life can be. Thank you, Andrea H.! Your nametag was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 03.10. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Stand: 03.10.2025

About Marvie

What life with Marvie looks like

Marvie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marvie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marvie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marvie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marvie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marvie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marvie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marvie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
