Masou

English Bulldog · Male · 3 years

Hello, I am Masou! Masou was found but never picked up. Since then, the large, impressive male dog at our shelter has been waiting for people who appreciate his strengths and can lead him confidently. Masou has made great progress in training and shows motivation and willingness to learn. At the same time, he brings a lot of energy and strength – and is therefore looking for a stable home with people who have dog experience and can give him structure, security, and loving clarity. What sets me apart: I am very people-oriented and am thrilled about my trusted people – sometimes I can be a bit boisterous. I love soft, fluffy beds – it has to be cozy for me! I work well with my people and am willing to learn. I can perform all basic commands and remain reliably seated at a distance. I am house-trained and can travel comfortably in the car. I love food search games and focus during training. I am a package of strength with a big heart. I can be led well if given direction. What I still need to learn: I am practicing patience – which is still difficult for me when I am excited. I should not be rewarded with toys because I was previously trained to become a "junkie" with them. I tend to bark back when friendly dogs provoke me – but with foresight, I take help well and remain approachable. We should practice being left alone together step by step. What I am looking for: A home with confident, stable people who have dog experience. A quiet living situation or a spot on the outskirts of town. A home without children under 14 years old. Clear rules, structure, and loving guidance. A written landlord approval if living in a rental. our shelter offers support and guidance from a trainer during the start of a new life. Those who want to meet Masou should plan for several visits to the animal shelter. If Masou were 20 kg lighter, he would already be rehomed – where are the fans of big-headed dogs? 🙂 With experience, living with Masou is very uncomplicated. The team from Lassie-Haus is happy to answer any questions.

DE·Show original

About Masou

What life with Masou looks like

Masou is a large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires structured training, no toy rewards due to previous over-stimulation, needs gradual alone-time training

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Masou, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Masou?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Masou on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Masou if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Masou already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Masou isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Masou and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
