Max und Moritz

Scottish Fold · Male · Kitten · 7 months

Experience of owner: Expert The brothers Max und Moritz are about 7 months old. The two are very close to each other, which is why they can only be rehomed together. They strongly orient themselves towards each other; if one is missing, the other immediately looks for them. Max und Moritz (white paws) are friendly, cuddly, and enjoy coming to people to get their cuddles. They play a lot and enjoy playing with each other or with toys. Additionally, they like to climb and, as is appropriate for their age, they are still a bit playful and sometimes a little clumsy. There is no tendon shortening, so they can move well. Since this is a case of breeding for suffering, possible health developments at this time cannot yet be fully assessed. Some diseases only show up in adulthood. Future owners should be aware of this. For Max und Moritz, we wish for a quiet, loving home where they can stay together.

About Max und Moritz

What life with Max und Moritz looks like

Max und Moritz is a puppy/kitten scottish fold cat waiting at Mutig Tierschutz e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Max und Moritz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max und Moritz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mutig Tierschutz e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max und Moritz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max und Moritz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mutig Tierschutz e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Max und Moritz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max und Moritz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mutig Tierschutz e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max und Moritz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
