Mazikeen

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

This beautiful little girl is 2 year old Mazikeen. She has been living with a very young family who she adored but they didn’t have the room after a house move or time to continue her training. She was rehomed in May and settled into her new home very quickly, until one day they had family and friends round that Mazikeen had been great with. She got onto the sofa next to two friends who made a fuss of her. She gave a warning low growl and then lunged at the friend. Sadly this was in-front of a family member with her two children, so it was decided that Mazikeen would need to move to a new home. She had lunged at her new mum straight after her adoption, but this was forgiven and very quickly replaced with cuddles and lots of licks. Her new owners and their parents are heartbroken because they are all smitten with gorgeous Mazikeen. She is fine with other dogs out on walks and will happily have a sniff and carry on walking past, she loves her walks and will walk with anyone who will take her, she does have a decent recall, which will need ongoing training because she can get very easily distracted, her current owners have worked with her pulling on the lead and this has improved while she’s been with them. She hasn’t been tested with livestock so her reactions are unknown and careful introductions would be needed. We believe that she would chase cats so we won’t be Rehoming her to a home with cats, she does like to stalk and catch insects especially the flying ones. She sleeps in her crate at night and when left she will settle down and sleep, when she was younger she did used to whine before giving in and going to sleep. . Mazikeen is neutered and vaccinated, she travels very well and is energetic on an extendable lead. Her owners say that her personality is amazing, she is loyal will not leave your side, she’s funny, laid back but with plenty of energy. Always brings her foxy toy to you when you come in or she’s excited, she loves cuddles on the sofa enjoys physical contact, she loves following you round the garden and sniffing at everything. If you feel you could offer this beautiful girl an active home with lots of company that she loves please contact us. Mazikeen is currently in the Preston area and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria insurance and our Adoption Contract. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply. 💜🐾🐾

About Mazikeen

What life with Mazikeen looks like

Mazikeen is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at GSP Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mazikeen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mazikeen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GSP Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mazikeen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mazikeen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GSP Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mazikeen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mazikeen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GSP Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mazikeen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
