Megan had already come into the care of the animal welfare workers at the end of 2017 and had found a home relatively quickly. She is very clingy and cuddly. However, she was returned after just three months. Megan showed aggression towards the family's children and also became incontinent. Perhaps the hustle and bustle was simply too much for her, and she wasn't given enough time to settle in. We hope now that she doesn't have to go back to the euthanasia station, as all foster places and the intake station are currently overcrowded. Update 14.06.2018: Megan has now had to spend three months in a cage. Since she was previously in a family, this is very difficult for her. Additionally, she is a very active and lively cat who loves to explore the world. When the animal welfare workers come, she is always allowed to come out of the cage a little, which she enjoys very much, climbing and playing tirelessly. Megan is a loving, people-oriented cat, but she can be a bit rough when playing. Therefore, she is not suitable for families with very young children. Update 27.06.2019: Megan is now out of the cage and, along with other cats, is in the intake station of the animal welfare workers. However, she is very dominant with other cats. Existing cats should not be subordinate, and the group should not be too large. When playing with people, she is still somewhat rough. When she gets very excited, she starts to bite. Nevertheless, she loves to play. The family should ideally have some experience with cats. Megan may not be entirely uncomplicated, but she is still a very charming cat who longs for a real family that understands her and accepts her as she is. Update 30.05.2022: Megan has arthritis in her elbow, so she sometimes limps. When the flare-up from the arthritis is worse, she needs anti-inflammatory medication. Update 27.03.2024: Six years have passed. Six long years in which no one has noticed her. But she is such a great cat if you just take her as she is. Megan plays a bit roughly, which can be traced back to poor socialization as a kitten. You just need to read her well to avoid accidentally getting swatted. Otherwise, she is a calm older female cat who has arthritis in her leg and therefore needs medication, especially during the cold season. She is simply happy with a quiet spot in the sun. That's all she needs. Maybe a tap. Because when you turn it on, she comes to drink and play with the water. It's so cute to watch. Megan is such a lovable cat who deserves to finally leave the animal shelter. Update 16.03.2025: Unfortunately, Megan is still looking for a nice home. Since she is very dominant with other cats and cannot tolerate younger cats at all, Megan can also be rehomed in single-pet households. If a family already has experience with challenging introductions and has a very small, independent, calm, and older group, and especially no cats that easily submit, they can of course contact us. However, we think it would be best if she could live as a solo princess in the future. Megan knows what she wants. She so enjoys the attention of the animal welfare workers when they have time - but also shows when she's had enough. Somewhere out there, there must finally be a happy ending for Megan. The cat more than deserves it.

Megan war bereits Ende 2017 in die Obhut der Tierschützer gekommen und hatte relativ schnell ein Zuhause gefunden. Sie ist sehr anhänglich und verschmust. Jetzt wurde sie allerdings bereits nach 3 Monaten wieder zurückgegeben. Megan hat sich aggressiv gegenüber den Kindern der Familie gezeigt und wurde dann auch unsauber. Vielleicht war ihr der Trubel einfach Zuviel und man hat ihr nicht die Zeit gelassen, um sich in Ruhe einzugewöhnen. Wir hoffen jetzt, dass sie nicht zurück in die Tötungsstation muss, denn im Moment sind alle Pflegeplätze und die Auffangsstation überfüllt. Update 14.06.2018 Megan musste jetzt schon 3 Monate im Käfig verbringen. Da sie vorher in einer Familie war, fällt ihr das sehr schwer. Zudem ist sie eine sehr aktive und lebhafte Katze, die so gerne die Welt erkunden möchte. Wenn die Tierschützer kommen, darf sie immer ein wenig raus aus dem Käfig, das genießt sie sehr, klettert und tobt unermüdlich. Megan ist eine liebe Katze und menschenbezogen, aber beim Spielen ist sie etwas ruppig. Daher ist sie für Familien mit ganz kleinen Kindern nicht so geeignet. Update 27.06.2019 Megan ist längst raus aus dem Käfig und befindet sich, zusammen mit anderen Katzen, in der Auffangstation der Tierschützer. Allerdings ist sie mit anderen Katzen sehr dominant. Bereits vorhandene Katzen sollten sich nicht unterbuttern lassen und die Gruppe auch nicht allzu groß sein. Beim Spielen mit Menschen ist sie noch immer etwas ruppig. Wenn sie sehr aufgeregt ist, beginnt sie zu beißen. Trotzdem spielt sie für ihr Leben gern. Die Familie sollte am besten schon etwas Katzenerfahrung haben. Megan ist zwar nicht ganz unkompliziert, aber dennoch eine ganz bezaubernde Katze, die sich sehnlichst endlich eine richtige Familie wünscht, die sie versteht und sie so sein lässt, wie sie ist. Update 30.05.2022 Megan hat Arthrose im Ellenbogen, deshalb hinkt sie manchmal. Wenn der Schub von der Arthrose mal wieder stärker ist, braucht sie entzündungshemmende Medikamente. Update 27.03.2024 6 Jahre sind vergangen. 6 lange Jahre, in denen sie niemandem aufgefallen ist. Dabei ist sie so eine tolle Katze, wenn man sie einfach nimmt, wie sie ist. Megan spielt etwas ruppig, was auf die schlechte Sozialisierung als Kitten zurückzuführen ist. Man muss sie einfach gut lesen können, um nicht mal versehentlich eine gewischt zu bekommen. Ansonsten ist sie eine ruhige ältere Katzendame, die Arthrose in ihrem Bein hat und deshalb auch mal Medikamente benötigt, besonders in der kalten Jahreszeit. Sie ist einfach glücklich, wenn sie ein ruhiges Plätzchen an der Sonne hat. Mehr braucht sie nicht. Vielleicht noch einen Wasserhahn. Denn wenn man den aufdreht, dann kommt sie zum Trinken und mit dem Wasser zu spielen. Das ist so putzig zu beobachten. Megan ist so eine liebenswerte Katze, die es verdient hat, endlich das Tierheim zu verlassen. Update 16.03.2025 Leider sucht Megan nach wie vor nach einem schönen Zuhause. Da sie sehr dominant ist mit anderen Katzen und vorallem jüngere Katzen überhaupt nicht leiden kann, kann Megan auch in Einzelhaltung vermittelt werden. Wenn eine Familie bereits Erfahrung hat, mit herausfordernde Zusammenführungen und eine sehr kleine, unabhängige, ruhige und ältere Gruppe hat und vorallem keine Katzen, die sich leicht unterbuttern lassen, dann kann man sich natürlich auch melden. Allerdings denken wir, dass es das beste wäre, wenn sie zukünftig als Einzelprinzessin leben darf. Megan weiß, was sie will. Sie genießt so sehr die Aufmerksamkeiten der Tierschützer, wenn diese mal Zeit haben - zeigt aber auch, wenn sie wieder genug hat.
