Mera

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mera is a beautiful young female puppy, likely born around February 2026. As with any pup of her age, she is still at the beginning of her life and has the world to discover. According to rescuer Daniela, Mera is an amazing dog with an incredibly friendly character. She is described as a sweet, social and nice puppy who enjoys interacting with people. Her gentle appearance and open demeanor make it easy to fall in love with her. What makes Mera extra special is that she has a small piece missing from her left ear. However, this does not cause her any problems and actually gives her a unique and charming look. Because Mera is still so young, she can develop into an amazing family dog with the right guidance. She needs a family who will lovingly guide her during her further growth, introduce her to life in the house and help her grow into a stable adult dog. In short, Mera is a sweet young puppy with her whole future ahead of her. All she's missing now is a warm home where she can safely grow up and get all the opportunities she deserves. Can you give her those chances? About Mera

What life with Mera looks like

Mera is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
