Merlin

Male · Adult · 4 years

Magic exists - it has four paws and is named Merlin! Merlin is a young, lively dog who loves movement, adventure, and human company. He is at his best on walks - with enthusiasm he explores the area, sniffs every bush, and happily follows where his curious nose leads. Our charge loves balls and tug toys. He could play with them forever, especially if his favorite person is with him. This is a dog who becomes very attached to people and seeks support from them. He needs a guide who will be a calm, confident partner for him. Someone who will help him understand the world and his emotions. Merlin is an emotional dog - sometimes, when something overwhelms or excites him too much, he doesn't know how to cope and may jump on a person with excitement. He doesn't do this out of bad intentions. He's just still learning how to manage his emotions. It's hard for him to find peace in an animal shelter. He needs movement, contact, and routine. In a safe home with proper support, he will quickly show how smart and loyal a companion he can be. How does Merlin get along with others? He gets along well with most dogs - he can walk side by side, and if something worries him, he politely avoids other dogs with the help of a person. He isn't confrontational, but he needs a calm guide who will help him maintain emotional balance. We don't know his relationship with cats. On a leash and in the city, he walks nicely and willingly, although sometimes excitement takes over and he needs a reminder about walking rules. He does well in a quiet environment, but in the noise of the city he may feel a bit uncertain - gradual exposure to street movement and new stimuli will definitely help him. What kind of home does Merlin need? For Merlin, we are looking for an experienced caregiver who understands canine body language, can remain calm, and will be consistent in daily work with the dog. I don't recommend him to people looking for their first dog friend or for families with small children - he needs someone who will provide him with stability and a safe routine. If you're looking for a friend who will accompany you on daily adventures, and in return will grant you great trust and love - give Merlin a chance. Let him enchant you and get to know him better.

Potrzebuje bowiem ruchu, kontaktu i regularności. Z większością psów radzi sobie dobrze – potrafi spacerować łapa w łapę, a gdy coś go zaniepokoi, z pomocą człowieka ładnie omija inne psy. Jeśli szukasz przyjaciela, który będzie Ci towarzyszyć w codziennych przygodach, a w zamian obdarzy Cię ogromnym zaufaniem i miłością – podaruj szansę Merlinowi. Daj się mu oczarować i poznaj go bliżej. Maciej 788 919 927 Krysia 664248224

About Merlin

What life with Merlin looks like

Merlin is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Emotional dog who needs consistent training and calm guidance. Can jump on people when excited.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Merlin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Merlin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Merlin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Merlin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Merlin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Merlin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Merlin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
