Mia II

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Female Mia II. must sadly leave her home and seek a new family on the land Mia II. must leave her family after 8 years sadly, as the young son now reacts strongly allergically to her. The family finds this very hard. When Mia II. was rehomed, she was very fearful. She was trained a lot and much time, love, and effort were invested. She is still insecure in an unfamiliar environment and would rather run away, but on familiar routes, she is relaxed and runs well on the leash. She can perform basic commands and is well retrievable in a loose-leash situation. She does not find strangers or dogs on the leash very well, as she barks sometimes. Without the leash, dog contacts are no problem for her. She knows children in the household, but they should be a bit older and more calm. In the house, she is very quiet and loving, only barking at the doorbell. She can stay alone in her own home for 4-5 hours. Due to spaying, Mia II. has become incontinent, but she is dry when she gets a medication (Propalin-Sirup). Additionally, she has a gluten intolerance. We wish for Mia II. a quiet and rural home where she can be given time and patience to settle in. If Mia II. touches your heart, please click on "now inquire" Mia II. can be visited in her foster home in Gau-Bischofsheim. More dogs are searching for a home... About Mia II

What life with Mia II looks like

Mia II is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. in Bad Vilbel.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia II, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia II?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia II on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia II if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia II already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia II isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia II and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
