Adopt Mia R

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Steckbrief Age: Born in 2019. Gender: Female. Spayed: Yes Character: Very friendly Size: approx. 45 cm In shelter since: August 2024 Family: Brother Emil R Hello dear dog lovers, I'll introduce myself. I'll be called Mia here. I have a very friendly nature and deserve a better life. My brother and I arrived at the shelter. Our emaciated bodies show that we haven't been treated well on the streets. But here, we get enough food and a safe place to sleep. A place where we can finally breathe. But we don't want to stay here forever. I'm looking forward to my new "home." I'm a smart, young female dog who still has so much to experience. Perhaps my life in your world will seem a bit strange and unfamiliar at first. Streets, cars, many people, small and large children, walking on a leash, and following commands are all new to me. I've only heard about them. I'm ready to learn everything so that you and I can grow as a team. If you think this friendly girl deserves a chance at a better life, please contact us. Together, we will face the challenges with patience and trust. I look forward to hearing from you. Your Mia If you're interested in Mia, please fill out our interest form (), or send us an email or message on Facebook. Mia is ready to travel and can be transported to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel spayed (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. Birgit R. has taken on the sponsorship of Mia, ensuring she has a full bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

About Mia R

What life with Mia R looks like

Mia R is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mia R, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mia R?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mia R on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mia R if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mia R already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mia R isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mia R and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
