We have seen very little of Mick (about 6 years old), literally and figuratively. He is still afraid of us and hides as far away from us as possible. Of course, we will keep looking for him until we find him, usually hiding under one of the cabinets. This big boy was taken from the street and it seems he knows little about domestic life. Maybe he has been alone outside for a long time. Maybe he had a master and was only used to him very little. Anyway, he has been with us for a few months now but he remains at a safe distance. We are looking for people who enjoy gradually introducing him to domestic life. In the "shy cats and kittens" information on our website, you will find all kinds of tips for this. Mick has a healthy appetite and a nose for delicious things, so it should be possible to make him trust people more. A stable quiet environment with 1 or 2 people will help with this. He also seems to find the other cats in the room scary, so it may also help to have the house to himself. Mick cannot live with children, or with other animals. He will have to stay inside, probably for the rest of his life, because otherwise he will pick up his vagabond existence again and not come home. We cannot say in advance how he will develop towards people. His ideal owner enjoys working with him and can enjoy every step he takes, no matter how small. We hebben van Mick (ongeveer 6 jaar oud) nog maar weinig gezien, letterlijk en figuurlijk. Hij is nog bang voor ons en kruipt weg zo ver mogelijk weg van ons. Natuurlijk zoeken wij net zo lang naar hem tot we hem vinden, meestal weggekropen onder 1 van de kasten. Deze grote jongen is van straat gehaald en het lijkt er op dat hij maar weinig kent van het huiselijk leven. Misschien staat hij er al heel lang alleen voor buiten. Misschien heeft hij wel een baasje gehad en was hij daar maar heel weinig gewend. Hoe dan ook is hij nu al een aantal maanden bij ons maar blijft hij op voorzichtige afstand. Voor hem zoeken we dan ook mensen die er plezier in hebben hem geleidelijk aan het huisleven te laten wennen. Mick heeft een gezonde eetlust en een neus voor lekkere dingetjes dus daarmee moet het mogelijk zijn om hem mensen meer te laten vertrouwen. Een stabiele rustige omgeving met 1 of 2 mensen gaat hierbij helpen. De andere katten in de ruimte lijkt hij ook eng te vinden, dus mogelijk helpt het ook om het huis voor zichzelf te hebben. Mick kan niet bij kinderen wonen, of bij andere dieren. Hij zal binnen moeten blijven, waarschijnlijk de rest van zijn leven, omdat hij anders zijn zwerversbestaan zo weer oppakt en niet meer thuis komt. We kunnen niet vantevoren zeggen hoe hij zich zal ontwikkelen naar mensen toe.
