Micko

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Mićko – The name may not literally mean “heartbreaker”... but it really should. 🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-9 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-2 img{aspect-ratio:9 / 16;object-position:22% 39%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-10 > Location: Animal shelter in Slavonski Brod, Croatia Date of birth: December 12, 2025 Shoulder height: approx. 40 cm / approx. 9 kg Compatibility with cats can be tested Single or second dog Ideal environment: all living situations suitable for: ambitious first-time dog owners .fusion-body .fusion-button Directly to self-information .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-11 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-gallery-2 Loading the next set of gallery items... With his huge, round eyes, floppy ears, and silky black coat, Mićko doesn’t need more than three seconds to wrap people around his little finger. His name is a loving nickname in Croatian—and could hardly be more fitting for this little charmer. The roughly six-month-old male is a cheerful goofball who approaches life with plenty of curiosity and good cheer. Playing, darting around, making silly antics, romping with his canine buddies, and then snuggling close to his humans—this sounds like a pretty perfect day for Mićko. Just a month ago, he was found alone on the street, covered in ticks and fleas. Thankfully, that’s all behind him now. Today, Mićko shows above all one thing: pure joy of life. He seems determined to savor every new day to the fullest—and to bring his humans along for the ride. Mićko gets along wonderfully with other dogs and displays an open, friendly, and social demeanor. He hasn’t met any cats yet, but we can certainly test that if you’re interested. As for which breeds might be mixed into his lineage, we can only speculate. What’s certain, though, is that Mićko is still growing up. He’ll learn the basics of doggy ABCs, new everyday situations, and everything else that goes into a relaxed family life—all together with his future humans. With patience, loving consistency, and age-appropriate physical and mental stimulation, this little guy will surely become a wonderful companion for life. So Mićko isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for people who are excited to grow together with him, experience adventures, laugh at his little quirks, and accompany him on his journey toward adulthood. And let’s be honest... with those eyes, it’s already way too late not to fall in love with him. ❤️🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adopting? About Micko

What life with Micko looks like

Micko is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Micko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Micko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Micko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Micko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Micko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Micko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Micko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
