His story: Mikusch is about 5 years old and had probably been living on the streets of Zalaus until recently, until one of our animal rescuers was contacted because someone had observed children cutting off Mikusch's tail. Our animal rescuer took the tomcat in temporarily to see if everything was healing properly and planned to release him back onto the streets. But when she noticed how friendly the young tomcat is towards people, she couldn't put him back out there. Fortunately, Mikusch has not sustained any lasting damage. The missing tail is not a handicap per se, as it does not impair him. Visually, it of course stands out, but a handsome tomcat can't be made less attractive by that. As mentioned before, Mikusch is very people-oriented. He seeks out attention to get his cuddles. Additionally, he is very even-tempered and friendly. Towards other cats, he has never really shown much interest, so Mikusch can be adopted as a single cat. But he wouldn't mind if another fellow animal is already waiting for him in his new home. He gets along well with dogs. Mikusch has now adapted to life in an apartment and should be rehomed accordingly. He would definitely appreciate a cat-safe netted balcony where he can observe his surroundings. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

Seine Geschichte: Mikusch ist etwa 5 Jahre alt und hat bis vor kurzem wahrscheinlich durchgängig auf den Straßen Zalaus gelebt, bis kürzlich eine unserer Tierschützerinnen kontaktiert wurde, weil jemand beobachtet hat, wie Kinder den Schwanz von Mikusch abtrennten. Kurzerhand nahm unsere Tierschützerin den Kater bei sich auf, um zu sehen, ob alles ordentlich abheilt und wollte ihn danach wieder freilassen. Aber als sie bemerkte, wie freundlich der junge Kater gegenüber Menschen ist, konnte sie ihn nicht wieder zurück auf die Straße setzen. Glücklicherweise hat Mikusch keine bleibenden Schäden davongetragen. Die fehlende Schwanz ist kein Handicap per se, da er keine Beeinträchtigung dadurch hat. Optisch fällt es natürlich auf, aber einen schönen Kater kann bekanntlich nichts entstellen. Wie bereits erwähnt, ist Mikusch sehr auf Menschen bezogen. Er sucht gezielt nach Aufmerksamkeit, um sich seine Streicheleinheiten abzuholen. Außerdem ist er sehr ausgeglichen und freundlich. Gegenüber anderen Katzen hat er nie wirklich viel Interesse gezeigt, daher kann Mikusch gerne als Einzelkatze adoptiert werden. Aber es würde ihn auch nicht stören, wenn bereits ein Artgenosse in seinem neuen Zuhause auf ihn wartet. Mit Hunden kommt er wohl gut zurecht. Mikusch hat sich mittlerweile an das Leben in Wohnungshaltung gewöhnt und soll auch dementsprechend vermittelt werden. Über einen vernetzten Balkon, auf dem er seine Umgebung beobachten kann, würde er sich bestimmt dennoch sehr freuen. Dies ist allerdings keine Voraussetzung für die
