Mila

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Mila - how long must a dog wait for his happiness? 🐾 Mila was born in May 2025 and has since grown into a young female dog. But while other dogs of her age have long been settled in their families, Mila is still waiting to be seen. Her life had anything but a good start. When our Romanian partner association ASIPA was looking for her mother during a castration action, they found Mila at an abandoned place in a district of Cluj. The little dog girl sat alone and frightened between old trains. Her front leg was severely injured, the bones completely shattered. Nobody knows what happened to her. But one thing was immediately clear: if nobody helps her, she has no chance. ASIPA took Mila in and fought together with her for her future. To save her life, part of her paw had to be amputated. A difficult operation for such a young dog. But Mila surprised everyone with her will to live. Day by day she fought her way back into life, learned to cope with her disability and showed everyone how strong a small dog's heart can be. Today Mila is no longer a helpless puppy. She is a loving, brave young female dog who longs for nothing more than to finally arrive. She dreams of a soft basket, of people who greet her in the morning and lovingly cover her at night. Of walks, shared adventures and a hand that strokes her when she seeks closeness. Above all, however, she dreams of a person who sees her not because of her past or her disability, but because of her big heart. For Mila we are looking for a home or foster care in Germany with people who meet her with patience, understanding and love. People who are willing to continue giving her the support she needs and show her that life can also be beautiful. Mila still has much to learn. Life in a family is something she doesn't know yet. Housebreaking, leash training and all the small rules of everyday life will be new territory for her. But Mila already brings the most important thing: trust, courage and the desire to please her people. All dogs travel fully vaccinated, chipped, dewormed as well as with EU pet passport and Traces papers. The only thing missing for complete happiness is a family that shows her that waiting has paid off. Maybe you are exactly this person. 💌 Would you like to give Mila a home? About Mila

What life with Mila looks like

Mila is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
