Milana

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 3 years

Milana is a beautiful, very special, calm and sensitive cat. Her development is incredible❤️When Milana came to us, she was in a shockingly bad condition. She had obviously had to fight for her survival as a street cat for a long time and was completely emaciated. Almost even more shocking was her coat condition😥Her back, belly and both sides were almost completely bald. But Milana persevered🥹❤️She bravely and courageously survived the many examinations and treatments. Today, there is hardly anything left of her previous condition. Milana has reached her dream weight and now wears a beautiful, shiny coat with a very special and rare pattern. Characteristically, Milana is a very calm and sensitive cat. She is still uncertain with people and initially encounters strangers with fear. Particularly fast and hectic movements can make her very afraid. At the same time, she shows us every day anew that she is ready to learn trust. Small steps are big steps for Milana and that's exactly what she needs from people who give her the necessary time❤️Therefore, we wish Milana a quiet home with fixed routines and patient, empathetic people who don't expect anything from her and give her the opportunity to arrive at her own pace. Whoever gives her this security will probably get to know a completely different Milana🥰 a Milana who can show her wonderful potential as soon as she has gained trust. 🥰 A home with a garden would be very nice for Milana, so that she can later, when she has really arrived, also explore her surroundings.Due to her history, Milana still needs sensitive food, which should also be fed in her new home on a permanent basis.Milana has already gone through so much in her life. Now all she needs is her own home, where she can finally just be Milana❤️If you would like to get to know Milana, please fill out our inquiry form.

About Milana

What life with Milana looks like

Milana is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
