Mili

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 14 years

Senior dog Mili is searching for a quiet home for his golden years 🐾 Mili is an approximately 14-year-old, neutered mixed-breed male dog of the type Posavac Laufhund. Despite his age, he is surprisingly fit and still very much interested in life. He enjoys going for walks, sniffing his surroundings curiously, and relishing long periods of rest. Mili is not a demanding dog – he values calmness, routine, and a relaxed environment. For most of his life, Mili has spent time outdoors. Accordingly, he brings his own habits and clear boundaries with him. Initially, he is more reserved around unfamiliar people but opens up with patience and understanding, revealing his gentle, quiet side. He enjoys affection most quietly and unobtrusively. For Mili, we are looking for a quiet home without children and without other dogs. He might possibly tolerate cats, but this would need to be tested slowly and carefully. His ideal person is someone with experience with older dogs, who respects Milis signals, and gives him the space he needs. One of Mili's small quirks is his great love for his blanket – it means safety to him. While he rests on it, he does not want to be disturbed. His future family should respect this boundary and only change his blanket when Mili is awake and relaxed. Mili eats well and is not a picky eater. Due to his age, most of his teeth have already been removed, which does not significantly limit him in everyday life. His health is stable, and for his age, he moves well. Mili is not looking for a new beginning full of adventures but a final chapter full of dignity, peace, and security. A home where he can still enjoy walks, is respected, and can rest in peace. Who will give this special senior a warm dog bed and a loving place in their heart?

DE·Show original

About Mili

What life with Mili looks like

Mili is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
