Adopt a Cat ‘Millie’ 178 Views The little cat we took into our care recently is doing so well. She had been living outside for several years. She was very heavily flea and worm burdened. Her poor skin was awful, she was covered in deep scabs due to the infestation, she didn’t know which part of her to scratch first 😿 We took her immediately to our Vet for treatment, and I obviously flea/worm treated her as soon as I picked her up to relieve this poor little girl. Her skin has improved greatly, the irritation has gone and her coat is now soft and shiny, she is eating very well and at last behaving normally. She cant wait for you to sit down then she is straight on your lap getting cosy ❣️ ‘Millie’ is an older cat and she has now been tested for feline leukaemia and feline AIDS, is fully vaccinated has been microchipped and spayed. ‘Millie’ needs to be the only pet and she will need cat flap access once she is fully settled in a new home. If you would like to know more about ‘Millie’ and arrange to come along and meet her you would be most welcome. You can contact me ANYTIME on 521778 / – please do leave a message with your phone number if I miss your call. ‘Millie’ is such an affectionate little girl and she is SO looking forward to having a home to call her OWN. She will make a lovely companion she truly will ❣️ Call us now to arrange a visit where you can spend quality time with her so you can really get to know each other. The best time to visit us is generally between 2-7pm as mornings are hectic here !! We look forward to hearing from you xx❣️xx Share on Facebook

About Millie

What life with Millie looks like

Millie is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Millie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
