Adopt MILLY

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

MILLY was abandoned by her family who, during a move, intentionally left her on the stairs of the old apartment building. For days, the kitten took refuge in the corners of the steps, without food or water, until the neighbors, annoyed by the presence of the small creature, called our volunteers from the ENPA section in AcquiTerme. For a long time, in the animal shelter, MILLY continued to show great suffering, but today she is fine and at the ENPA in Acqui Terme, with her companions and volunteers, has found a new family. So, her daily concerns are only those of finding time to do everything: play, eat, take enough naps and get plenty of affection. Thanks to the loving care of our volunteers, MILLY has learned that humans are not all the same and that you can trust some of them!

Read original (it)

About MILLY

What life with MILLY looks like

MILLY is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at ENPA in Rome.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting MILLY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MILLY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MILLY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MILLY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MILLY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MILLY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA early rather than rehoming privately; they know MILLY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
