Milo

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Adult · 7 years

• Due to German laws, a kind woman brought Milo to our attention and alerted our animal welfare worker Stefan. He immediately went to get Milo to safety. Since then, Milo has been living with Stefan – he is safe there, but the living conditions are far from ideal: due to space and safety concerns, Milo must be chained and has no contact with fellow animals. This husbandry does not align with our club's principles, but it was the only alternative to a certain death on the streets or continued captivity in the world of dog fights. Despite this, Milo shows himself to be an incredibly friendly and loving dog. He enjoys car rides very much and is always thrilled when he is picked up for a walk. On the leash, he already runs quite well. Our caretakers take care of him lovingly – therefore, Milo is already familiar with interacting with children aged 12 and above and gets along well with them. Milo is currently around 7–8 years old and ready for a new beginning. Milo is a list dog, likely an American Staffordshire Terrier-Mix. In Germany, this breed is classified as a Category 1 dog, which means we unfortunately cannot rehome Milo to Germany. Milo wishes for a home with dog-experienced people who will meet him with heart, patience, and consistency. People who are willing to challenge him physically and mentally, to support his growth – and to finally give him the life he so deserves. American Staffordshire Terriers are known to be very sensitive, intelligent, and playful dogs. They require clear, loving guidance and are ideal for active people who enjoy mental stimulation with their dog – such as in dog sports or as a companion in everyday life. At 7-8 years old, he has already gone through puberty. Nevertheless, several challenges will likely await the new human-dog team. He needs people who approach him with love and patience, give him time to settle in, and forgive him for any mishaps. A visit to dog training classes can also be a meaningful addition after a certain period of getting used to it. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign concepts to Milo. He will test his limits and may even forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is over, he will certainly become a wonderful lifelong companion. If you want to give Milo a second chance, we are very happy to hear from you. He has overcome the worst – and now deserves the very best. Milo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings an EU pet passport and can be rehomed after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a loving forever home for the sweet man! This dog will be rehomed together with the club Ein Herz für Streuner e. V. The double posting on both club sides and possibly on advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and find him the right home as quickly as possible. With the club, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog will be discussed and forwarded directly. We will take care of processing the inquiry as soon as possible!

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a extra-large adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
