Milo

Collie · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Marvellous Milo is a bundle of energy! He loves nothing more than going on long sniffy walks before coming back for a snooze. He adores his people and toys, and he will play with them independently and with his favourite people. Milo likes to use his voice when out on his adventures! If you want a high-energy puppy who loves to use his brain, he will make a lovely new addition. Meet Milo, an adorable young pup looking for an active family who wants a dog with a job to do and has the time to give him all the stimulation he needs. He is a very bright and energetic boy who loves to use his brain and learn new things. He has had a sheltered start to life, so he will need to be introduced to things slowly to gain his confidence. Milo could potentially live with a well matched/tolerant dog but will need support with appropriate interactions/breaks, etc. Due to his concerns around cars, he should live in a quiet area, not on a busy main road. He is a friendly boy who could live with older secondary school children if they are comfortable with an energetic, bouncy puppy.

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a puppy/kitten collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Harefield in Harefield.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Harefield handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Harefield will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Harefield early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
