Adopt Milo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Milo is a kind, calm, and talkative tuxedo cat who loves vocalizing and letting his human know when he's happy or in need of a cuddle! Having spent most of his life on the streets, Milo has undoubtedly seen some difficult things. He was rescued after asking for help for a wound on his face and is now recovering well. Despite his past, he has so much love to give and absolutely adores a good head and chin scratch. Milo has tested positive for FIV and we'd like to find him a home with a secure cat-proof garden that he can enjoy while still coming inside for food, naps and for some attention! Give him a couple of cat toys, and you'll soon see the playful side of him emerge! Our fosterer reports that now treated for his wounds and receiving regular care and a warm bed she has seen his playful side and he is becoming loving and if his new owner is patient and allows him to adjust he will settle. Milo gets along well with other cats, so he'd be a good companion to a household who may have other FIV+ cats. He is wonderful with his fosterer's two resident female cats (who are not FIV+) with whom there has never been any aggression. As a stray, Milo hasn't had much exposure to large groups of people or young children. His ideal home would be with older children or in a quiet, adult-only household where he can feel comfortable and safe. Milo is a loving and resilient cat who deserves a home full of care and attention. Could he be the one for you?Garden requiredMilo has been neutered and microchipped

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hounslow Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hounslow Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hounslow Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hounslow Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
