Harry

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

✅ Can live with children of any age ✅ Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped ✅ Will receive five week's FREE pet insurance Harry is a wonderful young male cat who has made quite an impression on everyone at Kiko's. He's confident, incredibly sociable, and absolutely loves being around people. Whether he's greeting visitors, enjoying cuddles, or enthusiastically chasing toys around the cafe, Harry is rarely short of something to do. If you're looking for a cat who enjoys being involved in everyday life and has plenty of personality to share, Harry could be a fantastic match. Harry loves people of all ages and genders and is completely comfortable receiving attention from staff, visitors, adults, and children alike. He's particularly affectionate and thoroughly enjoys being fussed over. He's happy being picked up for cuddles and has developed some rather entertaining habits when seeking attention. One of his favourite tricks is climbing onto people's shoulders, although he's also been known to jump directly onto someone's chest or back when he decides he'd like to say hello! It's all part of Harry's enthusiastic, affectionate personality, but his new family should be prepared for a cat who occasionally forgets that humans aren't climbing frames! Harry also has a tremendous love of playtime. He enjoys all sorts of toys, particularly fishing rods and balls, and has become so enthusiastic about chasing little balls around that the cafe team have nicknamed him Harry Kane. He can often be found enthusiastically playing football, racing around, and entertaining anyone who happens to be watching. Harry is a happy, energetic boy who would benefit from a home with plenty of space to run around, opportunities for interactive play, and people who enjoy spending time with their pets. He's also extremely confident in everyday situations and hasn't demonstrated any significant fears or behavioural concerns during his time at the cafe. Harry currently lives alongside numerous other cats and gets along well with everyone. Although he's happy sharing his space with cats of different ages and personalities, he particularly enjoys playing with other young male cats who can match his enthusiasm. He could therefore live happily with other friendly cats, ideally including a playful companion who enjoys energetic games. Harry hasn't been directly assessed living with dogs, but the cafe team feel his confidence and sociable nature could make him suitable for a home with a friendly, cat-savvy dog. In fact, his behaviour is sometimes described as rather dog-like, and his carers suspect he might enjoy having a canine companion to play with. Any introductions would, of course, need to be carefully managed. Harry also loves children and enjoys interacting with people of all ages. However, his enthusiasm can sometimes get the better of him. When he's particularly excited about receiving attention, he may give small love bites or enthusiastically jump onto people. These behaviours aren't considered aggressive or malicious, but they could surprise younger or nervous children. For this reason, we'd favour a family with children who are already confident around cats and understand how to manage an enthusiastic, playful companion. Harry would thrive in a busy household with plenty of activity, interaction, and opportunities to play. He's not the sort of cat who would particularly enjoy spending his days in a quiet home with very little stimulation. He loves being involved, receiving attention, and having things to do. He could manage occasional longer working days without human company, but we'd prefer a home where he isn't regularly left alone for extended periods. When it comes to outdoor access, Harry would particularly benefit from having somewhere safe to explore after an appropriate settling period. His carers feel that access to a suitable outdoor environment would provide additional opportunities for exercise, stimulation, and exploration. However, an indoor-only home could also be considered, provided it offers plenty of space, interactive play, toys, climbing opportunities, and regular human companionship. Harry is an affectionate, entertaining, and wonderfully confident boy who has so much personality to offer. He'll happily keep his family entertained with his football skills, demand attention with his enthusiastic greetings, and settle down for cuddles when he's finally ready for a break. For an active household looking for a sociable cat who wants to be part of absolutely everything, Harry could be a wonderful addition.

About Harry

What life with Harry looks like

Harry is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at People in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. People handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — People will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Harry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with People early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
