Milo

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Milo is a little dog with a big heart who, despite his sometimes difficult past, has managed to keep faith in people. He came from Spain, where he was used as a decoy dog. Today, he lives in a foster home with a child and another dog and has quickly and easily integrated into family life. At his foster home, Milo is developing very positively. He is now house-trained and can stay alone for up to two hours without any problems. When his primary caregiver leaves the room, he occasionally expresses his displeasure with a short whine, but progress is being made in this area and he is making steady improvements. Milo also enjoys car rides and accompanies his people on outings in a relaxed manner. Overall, he shows himself to be an uncomplicated dog who wants to please and is open to new situations. One training task still brings Milo with: Everything that flies interests him greatly. Therefore, he sometimes snatches at insects or other flying things. Here, he should continue to be trained so that he does not accidentally catch a painful insect sting one day. Milo is a loving, open, and friendly dog who enjoys the company of his people and is now looking for a home where he can finally belong. Anyone who wants to meet Milo and learn more about the placement process can contact his foster parent. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V. This animal has a history of biting.

DE·Show original

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
