Adopt Milord

Belgian Malinois · Male · Young · 3 years

When Milord arrived at the shelter, he was a very problematic dog. Aggression towards other dogs, no obedience skills, excessive barking, destructive, ..., in short, it was impossible to imagine the super dog he is today. It must be said that the living conditions he had did not meet his needs at all. As is unfortunately too often the case with many Belgian Malinois. With a new living environment, the opportunity to expend himself both physically and mentally, Milord has become the dog he is today, a very obedient, sociable dog with all other dogs of the same species, affectionate and very close to the human who accompanies him. Milord loves long walks, never on a leash, but never without his toy! He likes to learn and will certainly be an ideal dog for someone wanting to practice canine sports. Profile we are looking for: • Responsible, serious, athletic adopters who are very present • A home without cats • A living environment suitable for his needs, in the countryside • Good knowledge of canine sports If you are interested

About Milord

What life with Milord looks like

Milord is a young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at SPA Le Locle in Le Locle.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milord, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milord?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Le Locle handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milord on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milord if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Le Locle will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milord already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milord isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Le Locle early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milord and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
