Adopt Mimi

Female · Young · 2 years

Mimi was rescued from Macedonia as a puppy and shortly afterwards found a foster home in the UK. Mimi has been thriving in her foster home where she has shown herself to be a cuddly and affectionate companion. This medium-to-large-sized girl is still figuring things out. She is making progress with her toilet training, but is still working on letting her humans know when she needs to go. Only a young pup, we’re sure she will pick this and other good habits up in a loving home with consistent training. Mimi gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would benefit from being in a home with a confident canine companion to help her feel secure. She is also great with cats and children aged 10 and up, making her an excellent choice for a family environment. Mimi enjoys cuddles and is always eager to be part of the family, bringing joy and love wherever she goes. If you’re looking to welcome a loving and playful pup into your home, Mimi might be the perfect fit for you! To adopt this sweet girl, please contact us or fill out an application form.

About Mimi

What life with Mimi looks like

Mimi is a large young adult dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mimi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mimi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mimi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mimi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mimi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mimi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mimi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
