Adopt Mina

Female · Puppy · 4 months

Mina is beautiful both outside and inside – we believe she is a Setter cross, and her gentle, sweet nature shines through. Her past is very sad as she used to be a stray in Macedonia. Maybe she was dumped because she was pregnant – when the little puppies were born she tragically lost them all to the hard life as a stray, and she was somehow injured on one of her front legs. She was in a pretty bad shape when she was rescued and was very depressed. But the loving people in the shelter healed her wounds and helped her become a happy, healthy girl again. She waited several years in the shelter before making her way into a loving foster home in the UK. It didn’t take long for Mina to settle in her foster home – she has adapted wonderfully to family life in just a few weeks – she is fully toilet trained, walks beautifully on a lead and carries herself like a true lady. Her activity level is medium and she is generally very calm and easy to be around. Mina gets along well with both people and other dogs and although she has not yet been assessed with cats she will be able to live with a cat if gradually introduced. She is a sweet girl and could live with older dog savvy children. This amazing girl will be a wonderful addition to household and we are looking for a forever home where she will be cherished as a true member of the family, showered with love, and pampered as she so rightly deserves. Spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

About Mina

What life with Mina looks like

Mina is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
