adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Mini has found her people! Her story: Mini, a small female dog around 1 to 1.5 years old and approximately 25 cm in size, is searching for a loving family. She may be a Shih Tzu mix. She was found alone on the street, about 50 km outside of Bistrița. Her condition was very poor: she was full of fleas and had severely matted fur. Fortunately, she was rescued and taken to a foster home, where she was lovingly cared for and is now ready to find her happiness. And look at her: there are no signs of the life of deprivation. Mini was initially a bit shy but warms up quickly once she gains trust. She is very compatible with other dogs and cats, making her a uncomplicated companion. Mini longs for security and wishes for patient people who will give her the time she needs to adjust. She looks forward to beautiful walks where she can discover the world and would also be delighted by a visit to a dog training class to learn together with her people. She has passed her puppyhood and is almost through her adolescence. So it's time to finally start properly, right in the middle, instead of just being there! Mini travels microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with her EU pet passport, to her new home. She would also be happy in a foster home. Thank you, Amelie! You gave Mini the perfect name and thus an identity. Status: 09.08.

Stand: 09.08.2025

About Mini

What life with Mini looks like

Mini is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
