Important: when you email our branch, you should receive an instant auto reply which acknowledges receipt of your email. If you don’t receive the auto reply, please check your junk or spam folders for our emails. Minnie is a very affectionate, active, and playful girl who loves a fuss. She has been a wonderful mother to her kittens, but now she can get on with her own life and have lots of attention for herself. Minnie chirps to you constantly, especially when she is expecting to be fed! Occasionally, she’ll perch on your back or shoulders if you’re sitting down. She definitely likes to have room to roam about the house and doesn’t like being shut in. She really is wanting to go outdoors to play, so we hope her forever home comes along soon. A home away from busy roads would be needed so she can explore safely. Because she likes to jump onto your back occasionally, she would be best suited to a home with older children (above eight years). She would need a dog-free home, and we have no idea how she would be with other cats, but slow and careful introductions are always recommended. Could you offer Minnie a new home with all the comforts and attention she deserves?

About MINNIE

What life with MINNIE looks like

MINNIE is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Craven and Upper Wharfedale Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting MINNIE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MINNIE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Craven and Upper Wharfedale Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MINNIE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MINNIE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Craven and Upper Wharfedale Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MINNIE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MINNIE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Craven and Upper Wharfedale Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know MINNIE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
