adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Minouka has found her home! Her story: In late July, Minouka was fortunate enough to travel to a loving foster home and quickly won the hearts of everyone there. With her smooth, black-and-white fur and loyal gaze, she is not only beautiful but also a sporty, friendly young female dog. At first, Minouka may appear a bit shy, but once she gains trust, she unfolds her friendly and clingy nature. She seeks the proximity of her people, bonds closely with her primary caregiver, and enjoys cuddles that are also actively requested. When she needs some time for herself, however, she signals this clearly, and this should be respected in her new home. On the leash, Minouka already runs very well and loves going for walks together, where she curiously explores her surroundings. She loves water and is clumsy and playful. Outdoors, she is not very timid, but when she feels insecure, she seeks the protection of her primary caregiver, only to soon return to curiously explore the new situation. She loves car rides from the start and accompanies her people very relaxed. With other dogs outdoors, Minouka is generally well compatible, also fitting in well with the first dogs in the household. She learns very quickly and has already made great strides in this short time. Her people-oriented nature makes her a wonderful companion who will thrive especially in a quiet, understanding, and rural home with clear structures. Older children find her great and look forward to shared adventures. We know nothing about Minouka’s past, where she came from, or what she experienced. What we do know is that no one wanted the beautiful female dog. She was found on the street in Baia Mare, Romania, and was brought to safety. Minouka looks forward to a loving family that will give her time, patience, and lots of love. People who earn her trust and show her that she can feel safe. Minouka looks forward to people who are searching for a faithful lifelong friend. Minouka is available for adoption after a positive evaluation. She is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. Has Princess Minouka touched your heart? Then don't hesitate to get in touch with us – she is eagerly looking forward to a loving home and a first meet. A heartfelt thank you goes to namesake Christine L., who gave Minouka her own identity with her name. As of: 16.08.

Stand: 16.08.2025

About Minouka

What life with Minouka looks like

Minouka is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minouka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minouka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minouka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minouka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minouka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minouka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minouka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
