Minous

European Shorthair · Unknown · Adult · 10 years

A sweet senior tomcat looking for a warm home to enjoy his golden years. Don't let my age fool you, I still have so much love to give. I am a real cuddly cat who loves being close to his people. A pat here, a hug there and a cozy spot next to you on the couch... that's all I really need. I have a beautiful long coat, but it does require some maintenance of course. Due to circumstances my coat hasn't always gotten the care it needed lately. That's why they had to shave out some mats and I may look a bit different than usual right now. Luckily my lovely fur is growing back! For me they are looking for a owner who is willing to brush my fur daily. I also let myself be groomed very well and I don't mind a visit to the cat groomer at all. In fact, I let them do everything very bravely. Because I am now a senior they have done an extensive blood test here. And there was only good news: my results are completely fine! So I am ready to pack my suitcase and go to my new home. Are you looking for a quiet, affectionate and grateful friend who likes to live close to his people? Then I would love to come meet you. Who knows maybe I will conquer your couch, lap and heart soon.

About Minous

What life with Minous looks like

Minous is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Dierenasiel Ganzeweide in Veurne.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minous, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minous?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ganzeweide handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minous on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minous if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ganzeweide will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minous already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minous isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ganzeweide early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minous and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
