Misia

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 2 months

Misia 🤎 urgently needs a home! She is about 2 years old and is a new resident of the Choszczno shelter. She was brought here after a report from residents of Pyrzyce. It is possible that she was previously a stray cat, but we are not sure. One thing we do know is that when she came under the shelter's care, she desperately needed help. A large abscess developed in her mouth and it was necessary to remove her teeth. We met Misia yesterday and saw another small bundle of fear. 💔 Misia completely does not fit into the shelter reality. She feels very bad among other cats and chases them away when they get too close. We found her hiding in a box placed high on the wall. That's where she felt safest. We called her because we wanted to take some photos to show you and start looking for a home for her. And it was enough to call her... As soon as Misia realized that a person had paid attention to her and was calling her, she quickly jumped out of the box, meowing loudly. As if she was just waiting for it. As if she wanted to say: "I'm here! Notice me!" She eagerly ate the sauce from the tube, let herself be stroked, allowed herself to be photographed... And stroking her was simply in the seventh heaven ❤️ After everything, she returned to her safe box. We don't know each other very well yet. So we don't want to promise what Misia will be in a month or six months. But we already see one thing, she is very positive towards humans. She is looking for closeness, attention and touch. And that's why we would like to find her a home so badly. For now, we are looking for a home for Misia without other animals. We can consider a home where the caregiver is aware of how important it is to properly isolate and calmly introduce animals, without haste and without putting pressure on Misia. She needs time to feel safe. We are looking for a non-outgoing and properly secured home. Maybe you want to save Misia's life? ❤️ More information at

My poznaliśmy Misię wczoraj i zobaczyliśmy kolejną małą kupkę strachu.. I wystraczyło ją zawołać.. Szuka bliskości, uwagi i dotyku. Szukamy domu niewychodzącego i odpowiednio zabezpieczonego. Może to właśnie Ty chcesz uratować życie Misi? ❤️ Więcej informacji pod nr

About Misia

What life with Misia looks like

Misia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
